If a person wanted to get into this field what would be the best way to get trained in this?

SHK Certified (School of Hard Knocks)

I'm not sure, but here's how I did it. I got some books, and read up on it. Then, I got hold of every piece of hardware I could and did a forensics work up on it.

I know that there are some vendor certifications you can get.

I guess what I am after is what is the first certification one would need to go this route. In other words, I have hands on, self taught experience in the network world. I know enough to do basic things. What type of knowledge is needed to go this route?

Thanks
