My pc is on a home network router. And my daughter has installed some of her funky games on it. And now something is clogging port 80, so apache won't start. And my firewall throws an error 'Cannot connect to the service'.

I'm wondering how I can see what is on port 80 and uninstall it.

Thanks
Tricia

Chances are that if she downloads a lot of music, she has installed a P2P program such as Kazaa, it is snagging port 80. Usually, you can go into its settup screen and change the port it uses to something other than 80. For example, you could try port 8080.

On most PC's one can do a "netstat -an" and check if port 80 is being listened by another program (with apache down).

You should have seen a "Cannot bind" in the Apache error log.

Your right, it was P2P on port 80.

All works now that it's gone.

Thanks
