Hi,

I am facing compress problem on Linux 2.1 AS, as I get a message 'segmentation fault' on a file. The filesize is 2405498880 bytes. I moved this file on AIX machine, compress worked fine. any suggestion.

Thanks

Isn't there a 2GB file size limit in the linux kernel unless it's compiled specially to handle larger?

Why yes, you're right Eric. I thought of that but didn't see the extra decimal place worth of enumeration.

Farhysed, you cannot operate on a file that large without making the accomodation Ericbrunson mentions.
