COMPRESS & REPAIR problem

If you try to compact a database you, receive the following error message:
"Could not find field "Description"

This was caused when I cloned/renamed an Access database then made changes to the clone. At the end of the day I compressed & repaired the ORIGINAL database and got this error. Only when I deleted the clone did the problem go away. Any insight?

I got this error when I set the default sorting options for a table and then later renamed the sorting column, without adjusting the default sort order expression in the table's properties.

I seem to sense that a "trashed" table can cause this problem but there may be other issues too.
