compound path shadow drop and stroke 2

hi all
straight to the point. i have a square with a hole in it (compound path). now i want to give it a drop shadow effect, but i only want the shadow to be in the hole, i dont want the shadow to be on the edges of the square. is this possible? can anyone help me?
another question concerning compound paths: how do change the stroke's color of the hole only, and another color for the square edges.

Hi,

On your first question. I would make a second circle the same as the hole. Have no fill and no stroke and apply the dropshadow to that circle. Place it where the home is and send to back.

I would thonk that on your second problem the open pointer will let you do that. Select the ponts of the hole and apply the wanted color. Or you could make another circle have it with no fille and apply the color you want to the stroke

i tried you firs tip but that's not what i want maybe this image may help you understand my question

your second tip didnt help either, do you mean the direct selection tool? cause i tried that but it always changes both of the strokes. inside and outside.

could you please help me out one more time?

try making a copy of the compound path behind with a smaller outer object so that the shadow doesnt show. You could also copy in front, release compound path, unite and use that shape for a mask on the original compound path that has the shadow applied. You cannot have different styles on the same shape so you must again copy and paste in front, release the compound path, shift-deselect the middle shape and hit delete. You can then edit this 'copy' of the center. You may even be able to move another copy of that center to the back and drop shadow that instead, just make sure they have a stroke only. BEHOLD!
