I have a form with 15 Colums per row and 15 Rows. Is it possible to set up a compound control array to hold these 225 textBox controls?

No, a Control Array is one dimensional but you can simulate it with (ctlRow * 15 + ctlCol) as the index.

on the other hand, one 'wonders' why the other one doesn't just use a grid control?
