Hi,

Can I have composite keys for my dimensions

I am having an dimension with two keys in dimension table together forming composite key
e.g. Table : Dim1
Keys : Sid, Cid
Now SID and CID forms a composite key. Is there anyway thrugh which I can specify composite key as member key property in cube

In the properties panel of the dimension editor you can write valid TSQL in the member key and member name property. SO you should be able to concat the 2 keys into a single key.but this could prove to be a problem if this does not result in a unique value and the dimension is set to use uniqueness.

Example:
Code:
SID CID NAME
11 2 Apple
1 5 Orange
1 12 Grape

Apple and Grape would result in the same value and would therefore violate the uniqueness setting.
