Composite Datawindow -- Can they contain editable fields???

I have a base datawindow that contains an editable field. Once I insert another datawindow inside, the field is no longer editable.

I've been searching all over the Web and have come to the conclusion that no fields in a composite datawindow can be editable....

Can anyone confirm this for me, so I can move on to design a workaround?
