Compose key on keyboard...

Not much of a tekky question really.

We have a few Sun Workstations here and we can't work out what the compose key is supposed to do.

There's a light on the keyboard labelled 'compose' that is always on, regardless of whether we push the compose key or not.

Also, the scroll lock doesn't operate the scroll lock light.

Anyone know why?

I have no idea what it does... I haven't use a Sun WorkStation before but since it ain't giving you any problems, why don't you just leave it? Or if you want, just ask the dealer where you bought the workstations from? I am sure they will know about it.
