compling MOD_DAV as DSO

hello,

I am trying to compile mod_dav-1.0.3-1.3.6 module as DSO into apache_1.3.26 but am getting the following error message when i try to start apache

Cannot load /home/pws/apache/apache_1.3.26_SSL/libexec/libdav.so into server: ld.so.1: /home/pws/apache/apache_1.3.26_SSL/bin/httpd: fatal: relocation error: file /home/pws/apache/apache_1.3.26_SSL/libexec/libdav.so: symbol XML_ParserCreate: referenced symbol not found

What can the problem be? I am using GCC 2.95.1 to compile.
