Hi all,

I have this data in excel and i want to add the the calories.
But the catch is.... each calorie has ID and they can be several ids that are the same e.g

ID calories
23 15
23 17
23 23
12 1
12 2
12 3
etc

i know u can use a conditional sum...but it would be tedious if you are goin through over 900's of ids of which some are same and some aren't....

It would take too long that way....is there way to group ids and then add the colories?

Can some1 explain better method...am quite new to excel but i pick up stuff quickly.

cheers

Have a look at Tools-Subtotals!

This should be able to deliver what you are after.

What do you need the data for? If you want to display it have you thoughabout using a PivotTable?

Hope this helps

Good call that from Harley,

If you've not used them before try:

Data-PivotTable PivotChart Report

Then work your way through the wizard.
