Completely Hide a web part on a page.

Hi all,

I have a links webpart on my site that I would like to COMPLETELY hide from certain people. I know that I can restrict access to that webpart and when I do that, users who are NOT authorized to that webpart will see:

"Access Denied. You do not have permission to perform this action or access this resource".

Is there something I can do so users will NEVER see this??

Hello,

Right out-of-the-box I do not think you are able to actually hide that from the users. As you say you can limit access to lists webparts etc. although the users can still see the actual link to the list or webpart, but when trying to access it the get the access denied.

Might be a way of customizing or developing a custom webpart to be able to do this, but I am not a developer so I can't be of much help there.
