Complete Newbie Question on Switch Config

Hi,

First time on this part of the site so it would be great to get some advice.

I sat and passed my CCNA last Friday and have returned to work to find out that on Thurs I will be going up to configure a couple of switches that I've never heard of. The details I have are that they are a 4006 Chassis and a 3508 Gb switch. I think I just have to set them up with an IP address to allow them to be remotely managed but could do with a 'dummy' guide. Does anybody know anywhere because I'm led to believe the 4006 uses something different from the IOS.

4006 is a catos box not IOS so you have to familiar with the catos "set" based commands .I myself like catos better than IOS but if you have never worked with it then it will be different. 3508 is ios and is not different than any other IOS box as far as configuring an ip address and default-gatway on it . Great deal of info on cisco.com on how to do stuff just do a search on their homepage.
