I have absolutely no idea how to compile Qbasic for DOS files. Can it be done, and if so, how. I am using the version which comes with DOS 6.2

exactly what happens? I didn't think there were any issues with this...

if you use QB7 to compile a stand alone executable it runs in DOS doesn't it... maybe you should upgrade your version of QB.

Look around other QB web sites for a compiler.

Goto any web search engine and type in "COMPILER".

Good Luck,

The Qbasic that comes with DOS 6.x is an interpreter... You cannot create EXE's with that. You might be able to find QuickBasic 4.5, which is very simular to the "free" DOS interpreter, on Ebay to create EXE's with. Shouldn't cost much....
