Hello,
I have been trying to create a help system for my interface. But I am having a hard time compiling. I have tried downloading both Microsoft HTML Help Workshop and Microsoft Help Workshop(I think this is the same as WinHelp). But I just can't get the files to compile. I have been using the tutorial :

This is the error message I get:

Microsoft HTML Help Compiler 4.74.8702

Compiling c:\Documents and Settings\My Name \My Documents\New Help Files\Help Files.chm

HHC5003: Error: Compilation failed while compiling htmlhome.htm.

The following files were not compiled:
htmlhome.htm

And I have tried my best not to make any clumsy mistakes. I just don't understand why it won't work. Could it be an installation problem? My computer has Windows XP and no Word.. But I am making the files on another computer in cases where I need Word.

What could be the problem? Any other suggestions? Or any other good compilers out there?

Any advice?

It is possible your htmlhome.htm file is open when you are trying to compile.

It won't compile if your compiled version is open too.

HTML Help and WinHelp are different.

BTW we(Tek-Tips) have
Microsoft: WinHelp and HTML Help authoring systems Forum(forum764)
