Is there any way via plug-in or scripts etc. to compile java code within Visual SourceSafe 6.0 ? We are using VSS 6.0 and IBM's WebSphere Application Developer (WSAD) 4.0.3. Is there a plug-in or anything available ? Or any other way to compile without exporting all of the code from VSS and bringing it into WSAD ?

Our ultimate goal is to create one .zip file with our java application .jar file (complied java files) and all of the jsps, HTML, etc. directly from Visual SouceSafe.

Anyone done this or have any ideas ?

We have just recently set up automated build scripts for systems written in VB/VB.NET and C# that work with SourceSafe. I am not sure though if this will integrate to the software you mentioned, however the product we use is called Visual Build, information from
Thrid Party integartion details on their site is

Someone in the office here mentioned ANT integration - but that means nothing to me :)

Hope this helps,

Hammy.
