Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help me out......)

I'm trying to install zaptel-1.2.6, which is a part of the PBX Asterisk, on Fedora Core 5.

When running make I recieve the following error:

make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/kernels/2.6.15-1.2054_FC5-x86_64'
CC [M] /usr/src/zaptel-1.2.6/wcusb.o
/usr/src/zaptel-1.2.6/wcusb.c:1452: error: unknown field âownerâ specified in initializer
/usr/src/zaptel-1.2.6/wcusb.c:1452: warning: initialization from incompatible pointer type
make[2]: *** [/usr/src/zaptel-1.2.6/wcusb.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [_module_/usr/src/zaptel-1.2.6] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/kernels/2.6.15-1.2054_FC5-x86_64'
make: *** [linux26] Error 2

I don't think this is a problem with the code more with the linux side of things.

any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Pilgie!!!

If you are new to Asterisk, you may want to just download Asterisk@Home, which is preinstalled on a CentOS (32-bit) system. That should get you past these initial system configuration problems. You can always take the knowledge of a working system and go back to Fedora.

And I have to agree with ProbablyDown. It appears that you are compiling on a 64-bit processor. Below are a couple of links to building Asterisk on a SPARC. Obviously not directly usable, but there are lots of indications that many modifications must be made to run on a 64-bit architecture.
