compile error in Excel 97

When I open Excel I get a Message "compile error in Hidden module AutoExecNew". When I close I get "Compile error in hidden module AutoExecDistMon". How can I fix? We are running the Office Suite from the network and the pdfwriter.xla was missing for a week and has been replaced but this did not fix it.
