MS information on the convert problem is mainly from Access 97 to Access 2000. I got the opposite. The 'Switchboard' code does not convert well to Access 97. The error is
Compile Error.. Method or Data member not found.
.Currentproject. is highlited...

I have re compiled the module in 2000 and then converted the database to 97 to no avail..

Any ideas?

Thanks

You might check the code for explicit ADO references.

You should also check the enabled references in the '97 app to see if any are identified as missing and to make sure that Microsoft DAO Object Library 3.x (probably 6) is enabled. Larry De Laruelle

Thanks for the reply Larry,

I do not know how to check for specific references to DAO in the code.

In AC2000, Object library 3.6 was not enabled so I did and converted... same problem..In the 97 debug window, I cannot see the references...

Did you check the Access 97 references to see if any are identified as "missing"?

To check for ADO references, open the code for the switchboard and use the find/replace feature to search for ADO. Larry De Laruelle

Larry,

I do not have access to the References to check if something is 'missing'...

Open any code module in design view. Click on Tools/References from the menu bar.

This will show you which references have been set for your db. Larry De Laruelle

Access 97 switchboard doesn't have currentproject. I suspect that's the problem. I would just redo the switchboard in the 97 version. Peter Meachem

Peter,

I tried to remove the Switchboard but was unable to remove all the coding..

I can delete the Switchboard table and form, but the probram still looks for the Switchboard at the start and created a boat load of errors...

Ok I've done the same. Start the 97 programme. It stops on the currentproject line. Click OK. Stop the code running. (Run menu End.)
Go to Tools/ Startup and deselect the switchboard from being the startup form. Peter Meachem

Great!!... It worked... I bypass the errors on the Switchboard..

To find that I got another error like .Recordset. and probably some more in the back...

Should I reprogram in 97 until the errors are gone?
