Is the Nortel Meridian compatible with ECMA-242 ?

i dont know what ECMA 242 is ...but i'm pretty sure Nortel (and almost all other vendors) will be compatible if they are operating in a market.

what is ECMA 242 anyways? is it a new standard for something

To senk1s : ECMA stands for European Computer Manufacturers Asssociation. At this time, it is an organisation with a global reach developing standards together with ISO, ETSI, ITU etc..
They published some standards related to QSIG like :
- ECMA-143 : QSIG basic call
- ECMA-242 : QSIG MWI (message waiting indicator)

You can find ECMA at Downloads are for free....

We want to have message waiting indicator between Meridian 1 and Ericsson MD110 so users on one side can use the voice mail system on the other side.
Therefore we would like to check if both vendors are compliant with ECMA-242.

Why don't these vendors simply publish a document that lists the standards they comply wth ?
