Hello there,

I will try to give as much details as I know about what I have in here. We run our small office with 5 PC's.
That's what we have:

1- Desktop (Windows 98) which we call our server. It's linked to the internet and has the software Winproxy in it.
3- Laptops (Windows NT) connected to the Desktop.
1- Laptop (Windows 98) connected to the Desktop.

We acquired VirusScan Corporate today and installed it in two laptops (Windows NT).
We changed the configurations so that the AutoUpdate points to the the nai FTP site (an IP address port 21). When I try to update the DAT file I get a message saying the server returned some invalid configuration file from the autoupdate server.

I tried all the options I have here. I changed the port 21 to another number and got the message AutoUpdate failed. All the connections failed. So I am pretty sure the port is 21. The same one defined in Winproxy software.

If I specify port 21, I get the message there is an invalid configuration in the AutoUpdate site. The message sent to the log file is Download of update.ini failed.

I read some documentation of VirusScan and it reads that if the Proxy I have is challenge-responsive, the AutoUpdate won't work. How can I know if Winproxy is challenge responsive. IF not, what's wrong???

Thanks a lot!
