Hi,

I have 2 questions here. My questions are:

1. If I have a SDLT drive, can i read from a DLT media and
write to a DLT media?

2. Conversely, if I have a DLT drive, can i read from a
SDLT media and write to a SDLT media?

Thank you very much.

Cheers,
Boon

1. An SDLT320 can READ from a DLT IV tape alright. I don't think you can write to it though.

2. No

If it's a SDLT600, I doubt if you can READ or WRITE from/to a DLT.

SDLT can read tapes backed up with DLT 7000 and 8000 drives but I don't think it can read a tape backed up with a DLT 4000 even if it is a type IV tape. It is read only.
