Dear Sir,
I am working in an organisation whose area of operation spreads all over the state. It has got 85 branches (presently, likely to expand) located at far distances, all over the state. Each branch shall have One Server and three other networked computers with modem connected to the Server. It is proposed to connect all of them with the Head Office through Router supporting 16 ports. The Router dials one set of 16 Branches and connects with their Servers, in the evenings, and downloads the required data from those Servers. For the purpose, We have shortlisted two CISCO Routers for the purpose - CISCO 2620 & CISCO 3620. Could you kindly explain in laymans language which of the above is better and why?

I'd use a 3620 at the central office. It is designed to handle more traffic.
If you have 85 sites, you're looking at more hardware if you're gonna connect at anything faster than 56K.

David.
