Comparing resources with repository versions from eclipse

Hello All,
I am using the Eclipse IDE to connect to the code repository in cvs. I am noticing that whenever a file is compared with a version on the repository it looses the edit lock I have on the file. So when I try to check in the file after comapring to a repository version, I have to send a edit notification again and then only can i check in the file. This happens not just for me, but for everyone in my team and not just Eclipse, but JBuilder too. Wonder if anyone else has experienced this too and if there are any fixes for this.
