We are in the process of installing a new P615 processor with AIX 5.2.0.0. The old processor was an F50 RS6000 with AIX 4.2.1.0. We also use PROGRESS V9.1D and have multiple companies each stored in a database of its own in a seperate directory.
I have a couple of applications which extracts information on a group basis and connects to the databases one at a time. When the user tries to connect to a database situated in a directory other than the current directory, the system generates an error: SYSTEM ERROR: Shared memory access permission denied (1136). This is a PROGRESS error and I followed the instructions to ensure the correct permissions for the PROGRESS scripts mentioned.
My question is: How can I ensure that permissions on my old F50 is the same as per the new P615 because the above never happened on the F50?
