Comparing Multivalue String Parameter to a Numric Field

Hi

I have a parameter that needs to accept multiple values and it needs be of data type string. But the database field it needs to be compared with in record select expert in numeric. So it gives a data type error on comparison. I cannot also convert the DB field to CSTR. Is there a way that the input multivalue string be converted to numeric for comparision in selection expert. Any formulae ?
