Hello
I am using Crystal 11.
I have a database of diagnoses in "long format". Diagnoses have "types" i.e. most responsible, post admit, pre admit etc. The data I'm trying to get at is where a list of codes that are certain types cannot also be other types. So if code I63.0 is a type M it cannot also be a type 2. BUT I could have 1 code from the list as type 1 and a different code from the same list as type 2 and it's fine...only when the codes are the same.
So how do I do the comparison to match each code for this?
My first attempt was to create a field identifying all valid codes and types and then doing that a second time but for type 2 and indicating if Acodes<>Bcodes the etc. But it didn't catch some where the scenario of same code with different types.
Data example:
occur 1 I63.4 type M
occur 2 164 type 2
occur 1 I63.4 type M
occur 2 I63.4 type 2
So example 1 would be fine but example 2 would need to be flagged. Thanks for any help.
