Compare prior month info to present month

The database does not keep historical span dates of active customers. When someone becomes inactive, we simply change the status date. What will be the easiest way to get number of active customers last month (by date field) and compare to current active customers by same date field
 
Please don't post the same question multiple times.

One option is to follow the logic of what's active or inactive based on transaction history of each customer.

A simpler approach is to take snapshots of the data at the end of each month and append the records to a new table. If you wish to do this based on data in a Crystal report, there's at least one Crystal Report Manager (among those listed at: that can automate that process for you.
