Compaq server problem

Hi

The following are the details of the Compaq ML 350
server.

These are the problems faced by the server and following are the components.

1. The windows 2000 is installed with Oracle 8i (816).
2. Macfee netshield 4.5 with latest dat file.

The server is getting hung without creating a dump file. The hanging is intermittent , sometimes it stop responding 2-3 times a day or may be after 2-3 days.

I had replaced Mother board of the system (The Ram and SMPS is already replaced as we have stand by available with us.) , but the problem is still there.

Pl get back to me if you come across any solution for this

I'm working often with PL ML330/50/70 and never had a single problem.First of all if you want to work with Compaq
is to stick with procedures.Here are some steps:
1.First before all be sure that HW in your server is one that
Compaq allows for use.Look at product bulletin,quick find and reference guide under -at glance- @ -Options- to find
possible problems of that kind and options for upgrading.
Write down every single part number,spare number and assambley number you find inside the PL.Than search in
Quick find are the components adequate.
you did not describe your problem precisely but it could be
next:you dont use right scsi cable.pl 350 uses ultra wide 3 scsi wich transmits 50 ms long signal wich is to short signal for 3m or 2m cable.Also turn off trmpwr jumper on all
hot plugs,do not mix internal and external devices on single bus and keep boot hdd closest to scsi controler.
check termination and use hot plug cable with to ends about 1m long not standard with 7 connectors.Run smart start and diagnose hardware,and so on....
