I have a Compaq Proliant 5500 (P12) with dual P3 Xeon 500mhz CPUs in it. I just got 4 P3 Xeon 550mhz CPUs with 303990-001 VRMs andd have a few questions.

First, when I put the 303990-001 VRMs in the system it complains that redundant VRMs aren't supported. Will the new VRMs still work correctly or will they cause problems?

Second, when I put in 2 of the 550mhz CPUs with both the old VRMs and the new VRMs, they were detected at 500mhz. Is there a way to get the system to recognize them at 550mhz?

OK, I figured out the jumper settings for 550mhz, but I'm still waiting for an answer about the VRMs.
