I recently got an old Compaq Proliant 3000 server with 2 Intel Pentium 2 300 mhz cpu's. Because it has run for several years I broke the whole server down to clean the dust that is was collecting during this period. After all was clean I put everything back together and all seemed fine. At boot it said it missed the second cpu fan and the second I/O fan, I think this is ok because I only have 3 fans not the total 5. But it also said I need to reconfigure the configuration options. After this it found the SCSCI Raid card and will start up the disks in array 1. After this it said that the configuration options must be set i have done this before so i did what needed to be done and rebooted the server. But now it ALWAYS says I must configure the configuration options at boot. It doesn't matter how often I reconfigure its opions it'll still wants me to do it AGAIN. Does anyone know what could be the problem?

Clutching at straws here but perhaps CMOS battery?

Although that would probably say system options not set each time rather than configuration options. I forget I'm afraid.

If you can stand to lose your info perhaps you might want to run system erase and start over.
