We are running 2 Compaq servers. The file server is Proliant 1600, the CommServer is proliant 800. We are on Netware5. We are in the process of going to fiber optic cabling. The network works fine on the existing 10/100baseT ethernet NICs, but upon installing the new Allied Telesyn NICs (for fiber connectivity), it appears that the CommServer is able to see the file server but the file server is not able to communicate or display the commserver.

We tried a new NIC, We tried a new slot in the server, we tried a different port on the newly installed Allied Telesyn AT8216FXL/MT switch - to no avail.

What could it be? We are on a time limit. This needs to be completed by 5/1/2000!
