Hi All

I have an old Proliant 1500 with a Smart 2/P array Controller (v.4.50). I am trying to install Windows 2000 Server.

The problem is that it initially loads Windows 2000 Server but when it reboots it just hangs.

Has anybody got any ideas?

When you initially set up the server, what version of the SCSI drivers did you use? -----------------------------------------------------

Many thanks for replying

· Compaq System Bios E12

· Flashed the Array Bios to rev 4.50

I first tied to use Smartstart 5.10 but could not find the softeware. When I spoke to Compaq they told me that I needed to use an earlier version of Smartstart (I used version 4.90).

I created the logical drive in a Raid 5 configuration. When I started to load Windows 2000 Server I used F^ to try a load the Array Drivers they Compaq had told to use. Unfortunately all the Array drivers I used did not work with the error “txtsetup.oem Iis missing”

The other Array drivers that I have previously installed have always been installed using F6 for Windows 2000 or F10 for NT4, but Compaq seems to do it differently?

Can you help?

Best way of setting it up would be to use your SmartStart v5.10 CD to configure that side, then just go about the normal way of installing W2k Server without messing about with the Compaq bit at the end of the SmartStart install. The installation should pick up the Array Controller automatically (if memory serves) so there should be no need to specifically tell the install. If I am incorrect, then download the latest drivers from:
