Hello all

I am wondering whether to get one of these machines for my son to muck about on. Games etc

What kind of machines are they, u hear horror stories about them, thought i would check with u guys/gals

You might be better asking in PC hardware - General discussion Forum - forum602. Also, a more specific question - there are lots of Compaq Presario's - and are you thinking new or second hand?

PS. If new - there are lots of places to buy reasonably priced PCs - from 'big brands' to locally built machines. If you give your location, you might get a local recommendation.

Personally, I would not buy a compaq. If one was given to me I might be able to find some use for it.
Reason being, compaqs have some unique (proprietary)ways of doing things. Makes them more fun (difficult) to work on.
