COMPAQ Presario 1692 DVD Doesn't work under Millenium

Help!

I have a COMPAQ Presario 1692 upgraded to Millenium Me
from Win 98 and can't seem to get my DVD ROM drive
to work. It recongnizes CD's but will not play DVD's.
It whirls and click and then says it does not recognize
the drive or insert a DVD when one already exists in the
drive..

Hey Greg,

Did you download and install teh DVD driver from the compaq site?

http://www.compaq.com,

look under support and click on software and drivers, and put in your cpu...and hopefully that will get you fixed.
