Compaq Presario 1505 US w/Windows XP notebook freezes 1

My Compaq Presario notebook randomly freezes, irrespective of connection to internet. I 've even re-installed the OS to see if there is a problem with it but no luck.

Here are the specs of the notebook.

Pentium 4 processor
Microsoft Windows XP SP2
1.6 GHz
256 MB RAM

I 've been battling this problem for nearly a year. Any help on this would be really great.

This did not help. I installed Speedfan and found that the fans seem to be ok in terms of the temperatures.

I would test my memory with Memtest86:

With Speedfan, did you check to see if your voltages are all within range?
