Hi I have a Compaq presario 5000. I installed a new Mother board and processor(750 AMD). When I install operating system (windows XP pro) installation stops not enough memory, needs 64mb and is only recognizing 32mb. My memory module is a kingston kvr133x64c3/256.

A lot of the new PC133 SDRAM is not recognised correctly by some motherboards although the newer ones are usually ok. Generally it shows up as only half what is actually installed. Sometimes of course it is just a faulty piece of RAM. Try another piece.

Presarios are VERY specific as to which ram they can use.
Are you using part number KTC3088 memory or another?
Post the system part number if you like and I will check it for you...
Was there a hardware failure that lead you to buy a new mainboard or was this just an upgrade?

THANK YOU for taking the time to let us know that you are up and running and that we helped you with that.
SO often we end up wondering.....never finding out if it was fixed or what fixed it.

Have a great day! Kimber
