Compaq Autoloader 1

Hello everyone,
I am using a Compaq DLT1 1280 SuperLoader (firmware rev v46) with Arcserve 2000 (SP4) on Windows 2000 (SP2).
The backup job that I have created works fine however each day that the job runs, it appends to the first tape. Does anyone know how I can backup to the next tape in the autoloader each time the job runs?

Do you have the Tape Library Option installed? Are you using Simple or GFS Rotation jobs?

When using non-rotation jobs ARCserve will use the first available media in the loader. If there are only 'blank media' ( ie. new tapes according to ARCserve ) loaded ARcserve will pick a new tape every day. If, after a certain amount of backup jobs - depending on the slot capacity of the loader - all blank tapes are used, then ARCserve will pick the same tape everyday. The way to avoid this is to use rotation ( simple or GFS ) jobs, OR to create a separate device group and backup job for every day you want to have a backup.
