I have 2 old Compaq Proliant 3110 and 3120 systems that are working just fine with Win NT4 SP6a. They current have 5 x 1.05Gb drives in eac plus 5 x 1.05Gb in Compaq 3091 expansion arrays. I now want to use them to act as host servers / storage for my new found hobby of PC Music and Film Editing as my budget is limited.

My questions are;

1. Can I easily upgrade the disc capacities of the installed drives to say 80 / 120 / 180Gb each? The curent ones are full heaight 3.5" Fujitsu Drives.

2. I've also lost the original config and start up CDs for the systems and expansion arrays. Can anyone help with replacements?

3. Would it be possible to upgrade the motherboard easily so I could use more processor power from a P4, Athlon 3000 or Dual / Quad Xeon and Win 2000 or 2003?

Any assistance will be graciously rewarded.

regards

Karl

What are 3110 and 3120 Proliants? These are not common model numbers. Are they Proliant 3000's?

The systems are both floor standing towers and have the models shown as 3110 and 3120 on the rear labels. Inside they appear to be the same config as floor standing 4000 systems as they are quad pentium systems and have motherboards that appear to be the same as the 4000 series. Is there anything else that would identify them exactly?
