Users sync their ACT Contacts & Calandar with Outlook 2007 using CompanionLink Pro 3.0 which isn't supported anymore. Recently several users' Outlook calendar entries have blank or duplicate entries. I have re-installed CompanionLink and gone through the basic troubleshooting steps. Repaired the OST files, Outlook profile/application and ran a repair on the ACT database. Any advice?

I won't use or support CL any more ... it's well know to cause duplications or data loss (even current versions)

The costs to repair the data and recover from these issues becomes far to much ... along with the costs of user downtime as you do the repairs. Worse, no matter what you do, it will happen again.

In fact, nearly all syncs to Outlook will eventually cause this, especially if Outlook then sync's to something else (eg Exchange or mobile phones)

BTW: What version of ACT!?

Are you wanting to sync to Outlook just to have the data there or is it just to get the data to smartphones/tablet?

If smartphones/tablets, what OS?

As you said OST, I assume you have Exchange, what version?

Hi Mike, we sync Outlook 2007 and then we use Exchange 2010 to sync to smartphones which are usually iPhones.

You'll nearly always get sync issues that way ... Outlook and Exchange sometimes change the ItemID if records and ACT! won't then know what to do with them.

The only reliable way to sync ACT! to iPhones is with Handheld Contact

You'll also get a more ACT!-like experiance ...
* the ability to schedule for other users and (if permitted) to see their activities
* activities link to contacts (even multiple contacts)
* fields are correctly formatted (up to 73 fields) ... with pull-downs if desired
* Notes/Histories available
* Emails/SMS sent from HHC on the phone will automatically record the body to ACT!'s history
* Phone calls will prompt for history
