I am having problems with the c 3050 telephones-are there any problems reported by Nortel on this model?
We havew dead phones, static, drop-outs (not caused by coverage).
I have trainned the customer on the correct way to charge the batteries, but we still have problems!
Any hints?

How many companions are you running off of 1 base station? You are limited in the amount of cells per base station. M.Parnell

Assuming all else is perfect with your Companion set up, the 3050 is a crappolla handset. One drop to the floor

the companion phones don't work well at all. I haven't had very good luck . you're better off installing an APM and a cordless phone.

The application is a large supermarket so they need total coverage. The 3050 is a crappy phone, and not only that, but I also found stress fractures on the 3060 holsters, in the bottom corner, that cause the phones to fall out much easier.
There has to be a solution to this mess.
The telephones that I am attempting to replace are off an existing system. I de-registered the broken phones, and then attempted to register the replacements-only one of them worked. When I could not register the other, I tried walking to a lesser-user cell and still no luck. I even tried walking all around the store, but no luck.

I hope you get the Companion customers fixed up soon, Nortel announced the Companion line is being Manufacture Discontuined, with limited support. the process will take a few years, but the fact remains, Companion is on the way out.

Tried to post on this earlier but the site wouldn't accept...

I find that base station placement is so critical with this stuff that most telephone installers don't do it right. Even though the book describes the footprint thing sort of OK

Well Phooey!! If anyone is interested in the rest of my posts e me direct at tisvcs@yahoo.com
