Hi, I was offered some used US Companion Phones - Model 3050 and 3060 and I would like to know if it will work with our canadian antenna setup. any expert advice on this?

I believe they are.
Found this in an old doc from my Companion days.

V. Compatibility
Companion Controller Software: The C3060 is compatible with all Companion controller software and
platforms (Norstar Companion, Meridian Companion, C200 Adjunct, and the Companion Wireless
Server).

The basic difference between US and Canadian versions was UTAM. Here is the US, we had to purchase keycodes to activate the Companion and then needed a keycode to restore the Companion in the event of a power failure.

As long as the Canadian version operates in the same frequency spectrum (1.920 to 1.930 GHz) they should work fine.

Zaidbasil- They aren't compatible.

The US model has a different board to comply with FCC regs.

We're in Michigan. Last year, we sent a couple sets out for repair, and they sent us the Canadian version. Wouldn't come up on the customer's site. The supplier sent us the US model, and they came right up.

To cover myself, that doesn't necessarily mean the US version won't work in Canada, but I'm pretty sure they're a different freq.

Thanks for the replies, its safe not to get them since there is a chance that they might ot work

Canadian versions use the CT2Plus protocol at 944-952 MHz. U.S. versions use the PCI protocol at 1920-1930 MHz.

Thanks for the clarification. I never really dug into it past "Nope. Don't work." Sometimes I run out of time to look for deeper answers.

Having a little detail helps.
