Compacting Question

I have a split database, It contains the main tables on the backend and forms and some lookup tables on the frontend.
If I do a compact and repair on the frontend database what effect will it have on the backend tables it is linked to?
Will it compact the backend tables also or just the tables in the frontend?

It will not have any effect at all on the backend. Compacting basically creates a new mdb,copies the objects into the new mdb and deletes the old.
