CompactICS upgrade from software version 4.0 to 6.1.

Can I upgrade a CICS from a 4.0 to a 6.1 without using any type of an upgrade tool? I am hearing that you have to go from 4.0 to 4.1 then to 6.1. Any help on how to upgrade this would be verrrry helpful. Thanks.

According to 6.1 docs you just pull power, pull old s/w card. put in new s/w card re-apply power.

If voting could really change things, it would be illegal.
