Hello everybody and help please !!!

We have a Norstar CCU and 6 phones (M7310). We had a leak and the power supply fizzed and generally broke. I have got hold of a new CCU which is identical to the old one which is good news. I tried using the new box just by reconnecting the wires as they were and got some rather strange results on the telephones - i assume this is due to the memory card that slots into the unit being programmed differently from the original. Also the new unit had two of the large grey slide in circuit boards where our original just had one. With the new unit i could get one outside line rather than two and other things were a bit different too.

I thought that i would take a risk and just use the power PCB from the new unit and put it in our old unit so that everything else was identical. This worked in so far that the system powers up and appears to be stable.

However, the handsets now behave very strangely indeed. E.g. i can't get an outside line. I have done a key enquiry and the lines 1 to 4 are set to 'Line Pool A', 'Conference', 'Call forward' and 'Group Pickup' respectively with anticipated results. Something seems to have reset as i get this situation using the new and the old system now - i cannot get back to one line working or anything else.

I have got my two telephone lines in the connectors labelled RX201 and TX202 which is how they were before the incident, but i don't know how to progress to get the handsets to aquire a line when you press line1 and line2 like they used to.

Should i consider a factory reset? If so how do a factory rest my handsets as these are most strage? At the moment, because the keys on the handsets are all over the place, i can't follow the programming guide as everything behaves peculiarly.

As you can see i need some grass roots help if anybody is willing!

Thanks in advance.

Thanks!

I must admit I wasn't certain where to put it as my system says 'Meridian CCU compact Plus' on it as well as a sizable Norstar sticker.

The confusion begins at a very early stage with these things - I don't even know what i have got let alone how to work it.

Cheers,
