Compact ICS Auto Attendant 1

I have a Compact ICS with 4.2 Software. Having 8 lines I need to have Auto Attendant answer some of the calls and give the greeting of "Please wait for the next available operator" and then place the call on hold with music. Can anyone tell me if I will need extra equipment to do this and if so what will I need.

Sounds like you have more of an ACD application there. The only thing the Auto Attendant will do is answer the call and allow the caller to dial the extension they want to go to, or press 0 and be transferred to an operator.

1 - Enable auto attendant

Terminals & Sets --> System Programming --> Auto Attendant - press show and change to "on"

You can change the # of rings under "System Answer" in the same area.

2 - Customize your greetings with F*833

3 - Enable/disable your auto attendant with F*831 w/ password 23646

Note: Auto Attendant must be disabled while greetings are customized.
