Hi,

My network consists of 3 desktops running Win XP home. I have Check Register Express installed on the main computer. It is shared on all 3 computers. Looks like threr were a power outage and the database on one of the networked computers got corrupted. I have to do compact and repair option on that computer in order to correct RunTime Error 3049. Should I execute Compact & Repair option on the networked computer or do I have to disconnect the network drive, do compact and repair and then map that drive? What do guys think my best option is?

Thanks,
Alex

Someone may be able to help here, but you may be better of contacting the vendor of the software than asking in a general XP forum.

Robert Wilensky:
We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true.

The vendor would be the best place to ask this question.

However, if it is only the one networked computer that has the problem, run the compact&repair on it only. It was likely open and some forms wrote some scratch tables or something similar and got corrupted.

If the error is on all three then run it on the main computer.
