I am trying to setup some schedule policies for Weekly and Monthly backups - Basically - Differential Mon - Thur - Full Friday, which are kept for 28 days and then a Full last Friday of month kept for 1 year.
However with the extended rules there is a possibilty that the end of month backup will also contain differential backups from the previous day as the extended rules do not create a new set of tapes for full backups.

So I then thought of creating a seperate subclient and then create 2 seperate Storage policies, with one subclient associated to the weekly Storage policy and the other to the monthly policy, however with the way it is setup with the weekly schedule Diff Mon-Thur - Full Friday and the Monthly schedule Full last Friday of month, when it comes to the last friday it will run 2 backup jobs, one for weekly the other for monthly.

So basically is there a better way of doing this?, is there a way that we can skip the last friday full for the weekly schedule?

If your diff mon-thurs / full fri is scheduled as a weekly job, you can edit the schedule policy / >Options / select advanced in the middle of the window and from there choose Except Last Friday of the Month.
