CommVault are now starting to offer certification tracks to become Certified Product Specialist (CCPS) + Certified Solution Professional (CCSP).

Tracks will include;-
Galaxy
DataMigrator/Archiver
QNet
QSM

Should imagine they will be the same as the Veritas and Legato exams...had to happen one day.

Will they require certification when opening support cases? When we used Netbackup this was the case..

very much doubt it....haven't heard that one before about only certified people opening support cases, that's ridiculous.

I'd love for them to tell me I had to be certified to open a support case. Even if you do get the certification, chances are you're not going to get into the actual development of the application. 98% of the support tickets I've opened resulted in the developers actaully writing a patch and allowing me to download it. I've been neck deep in this product for about 2 years now so the only time I call support is when there is an actual problem with the application itself.

i'm horrified by this. why would you want to memorize this stuff to pass a meaningless exam? and pay lots of $$ for the privilege? what benefit would this get you when commvault changes feature design at the drop of a hat every release?
