Communications Error

I am running Veritas v8 Rev.3314. Windows NT4 Server and SQL Server v7. When trying to rum the scheduled backup job I get the following eror message:

Unable to attach to SERVERNAME
a communications error has occured.

Unable to attach to SERVERNAME.
^ ^ ^ ^ ^

Any suggestions?
